APRIL.

haha it's 28th april today :) which officially marks the end of my month of death, kuz the remaining two days are rather slack. this month has just been super busy and tiring - mrs lim noticed and told my mum, & apparently she's going to "talk to me" about sleeping at unearthly hours - which is quite odd, because i've been sleeping early kuz i just zonk out once i pass the 12 o'clock mark.

IM FINALLY BLOGGING! hail, miracles do happen. let's do this in chronological order shall we.

went for Ong Lip Tat piano concert! was amazing, 11-year-olds playing much much better than i can ever hope to.

CG OUTING! hoho much fun. after band, met up with shandy, joy, marcus, jethro and simon at cineleisure to watch 'Sunshine' which was quite interesting. and really similar to "the core", i thought, just much more gory and touching on the whole. effects were amazing and realistic, and the japanese captain guy (hiroyuki sanada - he looks better here than in the last samurai) was cute, heh. except he was the first one to die, upsetting. lol simon claimed that he came to destress but the movie made him more stressed! ohwell.

on the whole it was loads of fun although there were mishaps; but surprisingly quite smooth-running despite our obvious lack of preparation and stuff. the only thing was participants managed to stain the ground terribly so up til now we're still cleaning up and scrubbing the place, lol. i think i'll soon start naming all the tiles there are in the S. Raja block in RI if we dont get it done by mid-may.

Easter Sunday! - had evangelical event with the YF, was quite fun except there weren't many friends invited so yep.

SYF!

hoho i dont have the group pics kuz mr matthewlim took them and yeah. i koped this from sabrina's blog, jialun & me :) the bass clarinetists rawk man. and we both played our 'solo's (okay actually mine technically isn't) the best ever. music was great; jericho made the audience feel every single emotion there was & safari made people feel like they'd set foot in africa.

we played our best and we got gold! i guess there's always a tinge of regret for not getting goldwithhonours, but considering 3 out of 150 bands in s'pore had that prestige ... we're okay, but nycb still has a long way to go i guess. WE ROCK ANYWAY man! thanks for all the cards, notes, the apple & toy from vera & yiting, the chocolates and sweets from juniors, etc etc, that's why band pwnz.

come for band concert :) apparently it's sometime mid-july so keep your calendars free for appasionata XI!

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA :)

oh man it was seriously gorgeous. the props, the setting, the vocals, the orchestra. the ambience, the atmosphere, the music. it was profound. it makes you cry, laugh, want to sing along yet sit back and enjoy the haunting singing, confused about the true meaning of love & music, yet tells you everything there is. no matter what you paid for it, it's definitely worth it.

thought the phantom had the nicest voice and the conductor (she conducts both the orchestra and the singers) had the most tiring but fulfilling job. it was just breathtakingly beautiful.

the final threshold, the bridge

piano exam; im almost certain i failed. dont know if i want to retake - if i do it'll be in sept, but i've a good mind not to kuz it costs so much and well. i guess time's told me im not cut out to play piano. will learn to accept facts calmly :) and im over it already i guess. at least i didn't cry or anything! hoho.

LDP SYMPOSIUM!

hahaha the end of LDP, officially and sadly. although it does free up a lot of time and now i have one less commitment to care about, twas really quite fun while it lasted. the bonds formed - even if not in our group - amongst the ny LDPers! and why do girls' schools blazers tend to be brighter? NY's banana suit and RG's green, for instance. were considering getting one ny, one rg, and one nj person to stand in a row, then they'd look like trafficlights :D

and eunice olsen is CHIO! yep she was the guest-of-honour.

after symposium we went to island creamery, a whole entourageof us lol. some ny people, and most of ShareWitty (sarah), Team Titanz (jasmine), Team Ag (jayne) and thisABILITY (mine!) as well. was super crowded haha and ate fresh banana flavour to complement ny's blazer!

then started getting reminiscent with annie & sarah about vietnam kuz euniceolsen talked about going to cambodia to do cip with kids, and it just reminded all of us about vietnam and how the children who had nothing material compared to us, but everything in spirit and heart that we as individuals in a technologically, communicatively advanced world can never hope to have. reminded me that cip gives what nothing else in the world can give, the simple basic lesson that

we never give more than we take.

yep so that's the end of april! and now it's back to studying, cca and stuff, my marks have dropped drastically over the course of the month and i have a pile of overdue work that's taller than me so urgh :( thank goodness for understanding, nice teachers though.

i reckon i should be blogging more regularly now, may seems like a fun-filled month (once math common test & chinese mid-years are over, that is), so there's:

- tea session with the youthcentral people

- chocolate date w/ gloria & some ldp folks

- assembly performance (okay thats gross)

- midsummer nights dream picnic dinner w/ 411 and other random people

- napfa 5 items (gah. i missed A for 2.4 by 6 seconds! weeps.)

- lynette's birthday celebration! affective education talk on the same day haha.

- millenium issues conference @ st marg's.

- aldersgate youth conference: science & faith! rawks man.

sounds awesome, no? time passes too quickly. i officially can concentrate on guzheng & go hunt down marimba scores as well!

& i embraced the world;
